Character Sketch / Concept

Last year did a quick concept sketch (in an afternoon) of my friends roleplaying character Barry. I decided to spend a little bit more time, maybe a day or so in cleaning and polishing him up for Artstation.

In a series of tragic; yet comedic mishaps; during play session Barry blew his nose out when he miscast a flesh magic spell. To add insult to injury (and permanent scarring); he tried to stem the bleeding from his ruined nose with a cauterization spell, in which he was perhaps overenthusiastic. Hey may have, or may not have, set fire to his face and hair, reports differ. I had to try and visualise what a handsome Sylvan would look like with facial scarring. I'm assuming that this is a picture of Barry some months later when his hair has grown back (when we last left him it had just been burnt off by some sort of alleged facial conflagration).

Simple Zbrush bust and then a lot of photoshop tooling around. Not the crispest or most technically accurate painting but was fun and learnt heaps just enjoying the process!
